The documentary film is a reminder of the iconic personality of Brno, the unmistakable composer of theatre and film music Jiří Bulis. His life story and musical work are recalled by his children, friends and many of the important artists with whom he collaborated during his lifetime. 

The original music of Jiří Bulis, whose tragic death last year was 30 years ago, was heard in Bolek Polívka's cult "Provazkov" productions of Am and Ea and The Survivor and in Arnošt Goldflam's most powerful opuses at HaDivadlo. Bulis has collaborated with the Drama Club, Ypsilonka, the Drak Theatre and theatres abroad. Traces of his work can be found in Věra Chytilová's films Inheritance or Kurvahošigutntag (1987), Jakubiskova's I Sit on a Branch and I'm Fine (1989) and many others. Above all, Jiří Bulis is the author of nearly three hundred original songs that reflect his inner world and that still resonate across all generations of his listeners. Many of his songs appear in the repertoire of contemporary performers of various genres and have inspired a variety of musical compilations.
