He found his first guitar in a garbage can in Duchcov. In 2013 he released the EP Opuštěné pokoje.
With guitarist T. Mourek he recorded the album Urbánek & Mourek (2016). The album was released under the Tranzistor label, won critical acclaim and the Tais Awards 2016 in the Album I category. Featuring nine tracks, the music videos for the songs "Sousede" and "Osud (Lidi bavit)" were created by award-winning director, artist and musician Jakub Čermák (Cermaque).
In 2019, he released the single Vánoce 35 (Lído), which he followed up with the solo album Zhasínám Karlín (2020). The recording was made in collaboration with Mikuláš Čimbura (keyboards, synth bass), Miroslav Faderholz (drums), Ian Kelosky (recording, mixing, mastering) and singer-songwriter Lukáš Landa (vocals). The video for the title song "Zhasínám Karlín" was created by Czech Lion 2023 winner, cinematographer Jan Baset Střítežský. .
He is currently working on a new album.
