Toy Box: Landscape with birds

The new body of work by Toy Box is inspired by the artist’s membership in the Czech Ornithological Society and her frequent guided walks with ornithologists. She studies various bird species and pairs them with portraits of people who resonate with them. Toy Box’s art is often socially or environmentally engaged, which is also the case with the exhibition Landscape with Birds. “Nature is not just a place we go for walks – nature is a part of us, and we are a part of it. If nature is not thriving, our lives won’t be fulfilling either.”

The exhibition also features a series of family paintings capturing scenes and moments from the artist’s everyday life with her family. For Toy Box, painting serves as a way to become aware of the beauty and transience of ordinary moments.

This exhibition is held in collaboration with the Boskovice Municipal Cultural Institution.
