Marek Urbánek
Marek Urbánek works as a drum set teacher at the Jazz Department of HAMU in Prague and as head of the percussion department at the International Conservatory Prague.

He performs in leading Czech jazz and cross-genre projects, including the Gustav Brom Czech Radio Big BandJan Smigmator (Big Band, Sextet, Quartet), David Dorůžka TrioMarta Kloučková QuintetKristina Bárta Quartet(Euroradio Jazz Competition 2015, and the first ever Czech jazz project to perform at the world's largest jazz trade fair Jazzahead! 2021), Zorba že ja buddhaJeN Hovorka (a hip-hop project collaborating with various guests across genres), TokDatOndřej Štveráček QuartetLuboš Soukup Q.TRIPlayNajponk Trio (regularly recording for the Japanese label Gats Production. Jakub Tököly
Jakub Tököly is a Slovak pianist, composer, arranger, and educator.

He comes from a family with deep musical roots and pursued classical and jazz studies at JAMU in Brno and Musik und Kunst in Vienna. During his career, he has performed across Europe (Switzerland, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy…) and in Israel as a sideman in jazz projects from the Czech and Slovak scenes, as well as in orchestras and theater productions.

He is a regular member of the Gustav Brom Big BandMiroslav Hloucal QRenata DrösslerJosef Fečo Jazz FamilyĽubomír Gašpar Cimbal ProjectJúlius Baroš QLache Manuša, and The Forman Brothers’ Theatre. As a guest artist, he collaborates with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and the JazzDock Orchestra.

His original works as a leader include two albums – Different Directions (nominated for the Esprit award) and Echoes, where he blends jazz and classical music with Roma elements. These are the key inspirations behind his harmonic depth, lyrical sensitivity, and colorful, sophisticated improvisation style.

In addition to performing, he teaches jazz piano at the International Conservatory Prague.

 

Peter Korman
Double bassist Peter Korman is a representative of the young Slovak jazz generation.

His musical beginnings are rooted in Slovak folklore, which he studied for eight years. At the same time, he completed classical double bass studies at the conservatory in Banská Bystrica. He later studied jazz double bass at JAMU in Brno with Jiří Slavíka and at the Jazz Institute Berlin under Gregory Cohen.

He is a permanent member of ensembles such as the Jiří Kotača / Alf Carlsson QuartetMilokraj by Marta TopferováMatúš Jakabčic SK/CZ Big BandMartin Konvička Trio, and Ľubomír Gašpar Cimbal Project.

He has performed with renowned musicians such as Juraj Bartoš (SK)David Dorůžka (CZ)Gábor Winand (HU)Elsa Valle (Cuba)Gábor Bolla (HU)Sándor Molnár (HU), and Sullivan Fortner (USA).

His double bass playing can be heard on numerous albums across jazz, classical music, folklore, and world music. In 2025, he is set to release his debut album featuring his original music: Root System.
