Sirius

Twelve-year-old František lives in a village and does not notice the Nazi occupation, which weighs heavily on his parents. He experiences moments of joy and understanding with his wolf dog Sirius. However, violence also invades his life, even through the dogs, which the boy considers friends and helpers... 
After The Tale of the Silver Fir (screened at the festival in 2023), František Vláčil made another medium-length film at the Gottwaldov Film Studio. Although he had to resign from his artistic statement for an adult audience due to the adversity of the normalisation dramaturgs, he remained faithful to the values of his previous work.
