Nauzea Orchestra
The band was formed in Ústí nad Labem in 2007 and has undergone a significant transformation since its beginnings. The debut Meisterstűck Eins (2009) was electroclash, with lyrics in German and English, based on dada lyrics and comic book images. On the following albums The Dark Side Of The Raven (2011), Dobro (2015) and Štěstí (2017), influences of oblique country, krautrock, industrial, noise and postpunk began to appear. The fifth album Láska (2021) and the current sixth recording Ulož tmu (2026) are already entirely in Czech.
The band currently consists of Ondřej Švandrlík (guitar, synthesizer, vocals), David Kolovratník (drums), Ivo Mikšovský (bass), Jakub Švandrlík (guitar) and Klára Suchanková (violin, vocals).
Nauzea Orchestra is much tighter and noticeably more aggressive on their sixth album, Uloz tmu. It relies on krautrock motifs, minimalism and post-punk energy, which propels the songs forward as a flight from a world that is losing its footing. The band returns to dance-oriented grooves and the record is full of youthful energy and perspective despite its darker content. The album will be released on February 20th by Indies Scope.
