KATASTR – The Analog Essence of Tábor Spirit
Two artists who are now almost veterans (though not by age), deeply embedded in the rich Tábor music scene — Tygr (C, Waawe, Free Dim Festival) and Sváča (Please the Trees, SLUT) — drew inspiration from '90s electronica and ambient music as well as '70s krautrock and psychedelia, setting out on another noise-driven adventure. If the Czech scene was missing a band that fully explored the musical aesthetic of minimalist crossover between analog synthesizers and pulsating live drums, Katastr has claimed that spot — and thrives both live and on record. Their debut Hausnumero, as well as the follow-up two-track release Pigamoto, were recorded and mixed by Amák at Golden Hive Studio. A pure essence of brotherhood and the Tábor spirit.
