Island Mint

Ecstatic melodies, dreamlike worlds, playful songwriting and meticulous production. This is how you could characterize the band Island Mint, which has been stirring the waters of the Czech and European music scene since 2021. The well-coordinated five-piece has been successfully convincing audiences in European clubs and festivals that the sun really is shining. The judges of the Czeching Radio Wave competition also woke up to this, sending the band to the largest European showcase festival Eurosonic Noorderslag 2024 as the most relevant project on the current Czech scene.
From the whimsical pop of the Island Mint EP (2021), through the surreal indie album Irreality (2022), the band led by frontman Matyáš Adámek worked its way to the post-punk-tinged All Studium No Punctum EP in 2023, where the music took on sharper features. Last year, Island Mint went on a Balkan tour and released the single Burnout along with a music video by renowned director Marek Partyš. The band is currently working on their second studio album, which will be released in September 2025.
