About the Performance

Havětiště invites audiences to encounter creatures spontaneously created from natural materials—beings whose existence depends entirely on the viewer’s imagination and their ability (and willingness) to see personality in a scraggly twig or dried-up shrub. Hidden in the nooks of a garden, the “Havětiny” deliver poetic and delicate messages through short, intimate scenes.

The form of the performance changes depending on the available materials—drawn from the natural “stock” of the current season. Audiences are welcome to become part of the performance themselves—by creating and animating their own unique Havětina.

Havětiště also stems from a desire to test a beautifully simple idea: that you need almost nothing to create beautiful theatre.
